SHAPE America – Society of Health and Physical Educators is the national organization that serves as the voice for 200,000+ health and physical education professionals across the country.

For more than 135 years, the organization has defined excellence in physical education, and our National Standards for K-12 Physical Education serve as the foundation for well-designed physical education programs across the country.

Our mission: To advance professional practice and promote research related to health and physical education, physical activity, dance and sport.

We believe that through effective teaching, health and physical educators can help students develop the ability and confidence to be physically active and make healthy choices.

The SHAPE America blog helps to fulfill our mission by sharing insights, ideas, research and resources — directly from the HPE community.

Members and other invited individuals may have an opportunity to contribute their expertise as a guest author, and the SHAPE America Publishing Department will work with authors to assign topics, provide editorial review, and promote the blog post after publication.

All views presented on the SHAPE America blog are those of the authors. They are not necessarily those held by SHAPE America or the authors’ respective employers. Copyright of each post remains with that post’s author. Information on Permissions and Reuse of articles can be found here.

For more information, or to learn about becoming a guest author, contact Larissa Brickach (lbrickach@shapeamerica.org), managing editor.

Promoted Content

Promoted content is a form of native advertising developed and produced by advertisers or sponsors of SHAPE America.

This content — clearly labeled as “promoted content” — is paid for by organizations seeking high-level, targeted exposure for their messaging, products and/or resources.

We publish promoted content that follows our editorial standards and provides value to our readers. We reserve the right to reject any promoted content that does not meet our criteria.

SHAPE America does not verify or substantiate the claims of advertisers or sponsors. As a matter of law, it is the responsibility of an advertiser, not the publisher, to substantiate its claims.

SHAPE America staff are not involved in the creation of promoted content.

If you have any questions about promoted content or other SHAPE America sponsorship opportunities, please contact us at sponsors@shapeamerica.org.
